Conference Basics & Add-ons
Registration Fee includes the following:
- Entrance to the 2014 Conference, with your choice of open workshops.
No preregistration of your choices is required. If you need to leave for an agent or publisher pitch, we ask that you slip out quietly out of respect for the workshop leader. If you find the workshop was not a wise choice for you, please change workshops discreetly and quietly.
- A free pitch appointment with an agent or publisher, as available.
- Morning coffee and snacks.
- A buffet lunch with a variety of choices.
- Published authors may place their books in the Passing the Quill Bookstore.
This is for faculty members and registrants, as well. Passing the Quill takes 10% of your sales. You must provide the books on conference day, with your paperwork filled out. See www.castlerockwriters.com to print out the book store information and book list form.
- A Program for Young Adults in grades 10 through 12.
- Special rates for educators (with ID), college students, and high school students.
Optional add-ons include the following:
Pre-conference Event: “Reading the Slush Pile—Agents Share their Thoughts.” The $10 cost for the event may be paid when you register, or $10 can be paid at the door with cash, check, or credit card. See the website for information on how to add your piece to the slush pile when you arrive.
One-on-One Critique Sessions, with written feedback and a short session on conference day with the agent or publisher who critiques your work. The cost is $35. This must be paid in advance, and your manuscript must be received by the required date. See the registration page on the website for information. SOLD OUT
Headshots: available during Sessions 1 and 2. The cost is $25. Bring a flash drive, between $5-10 at any office supply store.
